Empreintes & autres encaustiques<\/h1>\n
L’encaustique est un m\u00e9lange de cire d’abeille et de gomme dammar, transparente lorsqu’elle est \u00e0 son point de fusion (aux alentours de 75\u00b0C) et d’aspect laiteux en refroidissant. Fondue et appliqu\u00e9e au pinceau sur un fond uni ou une photographie, l’encaustique refroidie est \u00f4t\u00e9e en copeaux \u00e0 la mirette jusqu’\u00e0 ce qu’une couche extr\u00eamement fine permette de retrouver une transparence l\u00e9g\u00e8rement floue. Des couches successives entre lesquelles alternent transfert de photographie, encres, pigments, feuille d\u2019or, pastels, gomme laque composent l’oeuvre finale, dont la surface satin\u00e9e et facett\u00e9e porte la trace de la mirette pour former une sorte de “mati\u00e8re sculpt\u00e9e sans volume”.
\u00c0 la crois\u00e9e de la photographie (qui est la base premi\u00e8re de l’oeuvre), de la peinture (les couleurs et la composition de la photographie sont retravaill\u00e9es par diverses interventions plastiques et pigmentaires) et de la sculpture (chaque oeuvre n\u00e9cessite des milliers de pr\u00e9cautionneux coups de mirette pour retirer l’encaustique sans \u00f4ter les pigments qu’elle recouvre), ces encaustiques sont rassembl\u00e9es sous le nom g\u00e9n\u00e9rique d'”Empreintes”. La nature et les paysages, parfois urbains, y sont omnipr\u00e9sents, comme en \u00e9cho \u00e0 ce lent travail quasi m\u00e9ditatif d’ajout et de retrait de mati\u00e8re et de pigments.<\/div>\n

Les formats vont de 10 x 10 cm \u00e0 60 x 60 cm, pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es sous caisse am\u00e9ricaine ou sous forme de bloc de medium pour les plus petites.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
